DVA Physiotherapy Brisbane City

AHF Physiotherapy provides DVA physiotherapy appointments in Brisbane CBD for eligible veterans and DVA card holders.

Our clinic helps clients manage pain, improve mobility, recover from injury and stay active with practical, personalised physiotherapy care. We aim to make the process simple, respectful and easy to understand from your first appointment.

If you have a DVA Gold Card or White Card and a valid referral, our team can help you access physiotherapy treatment under DVA arrangements.

Physiotherapy for Veterans and DVA Clients

Physiotherapy can help with pain, stiffness, injury recovery, strength, balance, mobility and day-to-day function.

At AHF Physiotherapy, we work with DVA clients who may be managing:

  • back pain
  • neck pain
  • shoulder pain
  • hip pain
  • knee pain
  • arthritis-related pain or stiffness
  • muscle or joint injuries
  • balance or mobility concerns
  • post-surgical rehabilitation
  • reduced strength or confidence with movement
  • pain affecting walking, work, sleep or daily activity
Your treatment will depend on your condition, your goals and what you need help with. Some clients want to reduce pain. Others want to walk more comfortably, return to exercise, build strength, improve balance or maintain independence.

Who Can Access DVA Physiotherapy?

You may be able to access DVA-funded physiotherapy if you have:

  • a DVA Gold Card; or
  • a DVA White Card for an accepted condition; and
  • a valid referral for physiotherapy.

Your referral will usually come from your GP. In some cases, an initial referral may also come from a medical specialist, treating hospital doctor or hospital discharge planner.

If you are unsure whether your treatment is covered, we recommend speaking with your GP or contacting DVA directly before booking.

What to Bring to Your First Appointment

To help us process your appointment correctly, please bring:

  • your DVA Gold Card or White Card
  • your GP or specialist referral
  • any relevant scans, reports or letters
  • a list of current symptoms or concerns
  • comfortable clothing so your physiotherapist can assess the affected area

If you are booking over the phone, please let us know that you are a DVA client so we can confirm what information we need before your appointment.

FAQ About DVA Physiotherapy

If your physiotherapy appointment is covered under DVA arrangements, AHF Physiotherapy can bill DVA directly. Please bring your valid DVA Gold Card or White Card and referral to your appointment so we can confirm the details before treatment.

DVA physiotherapy may be available to eligible Veteran Gold Card and White Card holders.

Gold Card holders may be covered for clinically necessary treatment. White Card holders may be covered for treatment related to an accepted condition. If you are unsure whether your condition is covered, your GP or DVA can help confirm your eligibility.

Yes. DVA physiotherapy generally requires a valid referral. This will usually come from your GP. In some cases, an initial referral may come from a medical specialist, treating hospital doctor or hospital discharge planner.

Please bring your referral to your first appointment.

Under current DVA treatment cycle arrangements, a referral usually lasts for up to 12 sessions or one year, whichever comes first. If further physiotherapy is clinically required after that, you will usually need to return to your GP for review and a new referral.

Contact AHF Physiotherapy in Brisbane CBD and let us know you are booking under DVA. Our team can help confirm what information you need to bring and arrange an appointment with one of our physiotherapists.
